Current Status:

·          Inflammation and Platelet Preservation Guideline (WG1).

o       Topics for guidelines have been developed

o       Group members have allocated themselves to topics

o       Pubmed searches have been performed

o       References have been sent to members working on Platelet Preservation

o       References to be sent to members working on Inflammation shortly

o       New members joining WG1

·            Anticoagulation, Transfusion Triggers and Blood Management Guideline (WG2)

o       Topics for guidelines have been developed

o       Group members have allocated themselves to topics

o       Group has been contacted regarding feasibility or progressing in light of STS and SCA publication.  Recommendation of Executive group of IECBP to defer this project.  Members will be encouraged to participate in the Platelet preservation and Inflammation writing group.

o       Feedback to date:

§         Heinz Weitkemper agreed the STS/SCA guideline was very good, and unfortunately had ho perfusion input.  Happy to change to alternate group.
