Current Published Guidelines on Perfusion and Cardiac Surgery

Introduction to Guidelines

Guidelines come in many forms, both those based on a systemic review of the literature, as well as those based on a consensus of the judgement of "experts". The ICEBP has chosen to focus its efforts on systematically reviewing the literature pertinent to our profession. Below we provide a number of existing guideline documents. If you have others that you think are relevant, please let us know and they shall be reviewed for inclusion on the webpage.

All these documents were developed using the classification system of The Joint Task Force for Guidelines of The American College of Cardiology and The American Heart Association, to evaluate the level of evidence and summarize the findings.

Clicking on the titles will send you to the pages of the specific guidelines where you can find the abstract, some comment, the link to the publisher's webpage and a summary of the proposed guidelines.

This page is subject to constant change. If you think there are guidelines missing or needing revision, you can leave a comment in the Comment Box provided on every page.

Please note! The guidelines and recommendations as stated on these pages, are a summary of the guidelines and recommendations by the authors of the respective articles. Nowhere are these the guidelines or recommendations from the ICEBP, unless specified in such manner.
