Candidates must be native speakers of Traditional Chinese (Taiwan/Hong Kong) and have extensive translation experience in subtitling, engineering, biology and chemistry, marketing, information technology, etc. Minimum 1-2 years of translation experience from English into the target language.

Please note that the basic rate for professional Chinese to English translators starts at £40 per hour, although it may be higher depending on the complexity of the text.
Transcribers usually work during normal business hours, but they can also work part-time, especially if they are freelancers. Applicants admitted to a Chinese or Chinese Translation and Interpretation major may be withdrawn from the language test requirements based on their academic performance and the recommendation of the language department; they may also first enroll in this program as students pending the admissions process.
